WooshPay Statement on the Financial Times (FT) Article of 9 October 2026

On 9 October 2026, the Financial Times (FT) published an article that referred to WooshPay and its UK entity, SwooshTransfer Ltd. The article was based on documents leaked from within a network subject to sanctions in the UK, the US and other jurisdictions ("the network").

Our internal investigation found that:

1. The invoice was forged, as the FT article itself states. It was not prepared or authorised by WooshPay.

2. The only payment linked to WooshPay in the article was never received by WooshPay.

3. Neither the network nor any of its publicly identified associated companies is a customer of any entity in our group.

After we engaged with the FT and provided the relevant materials, the FT amended the article in nine places, including its headline. The revised headline now reflects that WooshPay was named by the network, rather than used by it.

We believe that, for any publication, changing the headline of a published article is a significant step, and it is uncommon for a relatively short article to be amended in nine places. We thank the FT for carefully reviewing the materials we provided and for amending the article.

WooshPay is a regulated payments business. We have always devoted significant resources to compliance, including our anti-money laundering and sanctions screening controls, and will continue to do so. Today, criminal organisations constantly try to exploit legitimate businesses for illicit gain. A company that criminals tried to exploit without success, or that they never actually tried to use, has not done anything wrong.

We remain committed to being transparent with our customers, partners and regulators.
